It’s not an exaggeration to say our lives have changed in the last month. For some of us it’s been profound: Waiters and waitresses along with their restaurant owners; our young trainer who had just gotten a promotion to gym assistant manger; our radio and television broadcasters and their employees have had to keep their stations on the air while figuring out how to work separately. People have lost jobs and security. And others have lost security and consistency – like children and parents whose lives have been turned upside down trying to figure their “jobs” in an entirely new way.
And it’s not just the sudden and epic shift of how we live our lives, it’s the anxiety of not knowing how long this will last; it’s the stress of being isolated and crowded all at once; it’s the reluctance to commit to a “new normal” when we might not like it, or we know it may end just as suddenly. We’re creatures of habit and there’s nothing comfortable about trying something new – at least not on this scale.
What has been the thing(s) that have been hardest for you? Maybe nothing? Maybe more silver linings than not?
