A year in and I’ve moved offices. I guess it was around August of 2020 when the corner of our bedroom was literally getting too warm, with windows on the north and west sides of the desk. And by August, we realized this was going to be a very long haul. (Remember March 2020 and we really thought it would be over by summer?) So, I cleared out, painted and redecorated Madie’s old bedroom. I have a nice south-facing window, 2 desks and a bookshelf that provides a nice backdrop for zoom meetings.
And now I know this is where I work. I have a place that I can come to work. I have a place that I can leave work. I sit more, because I have better focus here. So, I need to work on that. And daily hygiene is sometimes questionable, so it’s good to have a zoom meeting at least twice a week. I can take my mom to doctor’s appointments without feeling guilty leaving work – because I can come back to it and work till I feel like I’ve caught up. It’s the perfect situation for me.
So, I went all in and moved out of the NMBA building. My office now belongs to the NMBA lobbyist. So, this is my new life and I love it!
